Hemodynamics
- The
backwards flow of blood across the Aortic valve is the direct cause of
the early diastolic murmur.
- The
increased compensatory bloodflow to uphold normal cardiac output will
often cause a midsystolic murmur.
- Due
to the backflow from aorta, the opening of the mitral valve may be
restricted during left atrial outflow, creating a mid to late systolic
murmur known as the Austin Flint murmur.
- Left
ventricular pressure is remained normal.
- Atrial
diastolic pressure is lowered.
