Symptoms
The following symptoms are commonly found once the Aortic Stenosis reaches
a critical level: Patients may have had murmurs for a decade or more
before symptoms occur.
-
Dyspnea on exertion
(Caused by elevated left atrial pressure, following left ventricular
hypertrophy)
-
Chest Pain (Angina )
( Hypertrophied left ventricle causes elevated oxygen demands. Even with
normal coronary arteries, sufficient amounts of oxygen may not be
delivered)
-
Syncope on exertion
(Syncope may occur as a result of insufficient amount of blood flow
through the stenotic valve)
