Signs
Together with hyperdynamic heartbeats, holosystolic murmur and occasional systolic clicks can be expected. If the regurgitation is linked to Mitral Valve Prolapse, the regurge will start gradually and will be heart early on as end-systolic murmur proceeded by single or multiple clicks from the prolaptic valve.

Electrocardiogram:

In mild to moderate Mitral Regurgitation, the EKG may well be normal. As the left atrium pressure elevates, the atrium will grow. The enlarged atrium causes the P wave to become biphasic. This is usually the first detectable sign from the EKG. Later, with left ventricular dilation, voltages may become more prominent with T-wave inversion.
